Feeding Directions:
If possible, the newborn kitten should nurse on the mother for at least 2 days. The mother's first milk includes colostrum, which provides extra nutrition and and short-term protection against some diseases. Hartz Kitten Replacer can be fed to orphaned, small, or week kittens from birth to 6 weeks old.
Weaning: At 6 weeks old, you can begin to wean the kitten. Coax your kitten to lap the milk replacer from a shallow saucer by letting it lick formula from your finger. Once the kitten begins lapping on its own, mix solid kitten food with warm milk replacer and allow solid food to soften to a gruel. Thicken the gruel slightly each day by adding less milk replacer until the kitten is eating solid food.
